The main objective of the laboratory is to perform fundamental, exploratory and applied scientific research for human health preservation and promotion.

Within the framework of the existing research and development, design and experimental work, reagent kits are being developed for the diagnostics of tuberculosis, measles, and the state of intestinal microbiocenosis by polymerase chain reaction. Rapid tests based on isothermal amplification are being developed to detect antibiotic resistance and diagnose intestinal infectious diseases.

The laboratory workers are conducting experimental developments based on high-performance sequencing technology, in particular:

databases are being created, and software is being developed to identify antibiotic-resistant infectious agents, as well as to diagnose hereditary forms of oncology diseases

methods and a prototype of test system for deciphering infections of unknown etiology are being developed

developments are being conducted to create a comprehensive system for assessing the genotoxicity of food additives
