LABORATORY OF HUMAN ECOLOGY AND PUBLIC HEALTH

The activities of the laboratory are aimed at assessing the impact of adverse environmental factors on human health, at developing a methodology for the diagnostics and prevention of diseases caused by their impact, in order to reduce the morbidity and mortality of the population.

In its activities, the laboratory is guided by the Rules of the Centre for Strategic Planning of FMBA of Russia, by the tasks set in the scientific platform "Preventive Environment" of the Strategy for the Development of Medical Science in the Russian Federation for the period up to 2025, approved by the Governmental order of the Russian Federation No. 2580-r as of 2012.12.28, by the Priority Directions for the development of science, technology and engineering of the Russian Federation and by the list of critical technologies of the Russian Federation, approved by the Decree of the President of the Russian Federation No. 899 as of 2011.07.07, by the Strategy of science and technology development of the Russian Federation, approved by Decree of the President of the Russian Federation No. 642 as of 2016.12.01, and by other strategic planning documents, including those approved for the implementation of national projects, specified in Decree of the President of the Russian Federation No. 204 of 2018.​​05.07

the examination of intermediate and final reports on research and development work carried out in Centre for Strategic Planning of FMBA of Russia, other materials on the instructions of the General Director and the Deputy Director General for research affairs

study of the adverse impact of climate change on the health of the population of the Russian Federation, development of recommendations for managing risks caused by climate change, in terms of improving the organization of health care, the system of disease prevention and medical care for patients with climate- and weather-dependent diseases

development of the most effective and practically acceptable tools, methods and information systems for risk assessment, early diagnostics and personalized prevention of environmentally determined pathology in the population of the Arctic zone of Russia, including small indigenous peoples of the North

development and improvement of methods for early diagnostics and personalized non-drug prevention of generalized weather-dependent pathology

study of the adverse impact of climate change on the health of the population of the Russian Federation, development of recommendations for managing risks caused by climate change, in terms of improving the organization of health care, the system of disease prevention and medical care for patients with climate- and weather-dependent diseases

consultations on specific issues of human ecology, environmental physiology, general hygiene, environmental medicine, healthcare and public health organization, medical climatology, biometeorology and arctic medicine

development of technologies for medical selection, improvement of functional reserves of the body and prevention of diseases in individuals working under harmful and dangerous conditions and exposed to extreme environmental factors in the Arctic (including shift workers), as well as technologies and programs for their rehabilitation both off-the-job and on-the-job

study of the adverse impact of weather and heliogeophysical factors on human health, development of mathematical models of the development of common weather-dependent diseases, as well as information systems for notifying the population about the unfavorable weather forecast and heliogeophysical situation

conducting epidemiological and hygienic research to assess the state of public health, morbidity and mortality of the population exposed to the adverse effects of environmental factors

study of the features of the functional state, reserves and ways to improve the adaptation of the human body to the effects of adverse natural and climatic conditions in the Arctic zone of the Russian Federation
